One of the things that motoring journalists tend to do, is collect "baseball" caps. These are now and then dished out at launches, if the sun is going to be a problem.
It is not often, however, that one comes across one that fits really well. Usually a mild south-easter will whip them off your cranium and have you chasing downwind playing catch-up. Although I probably have between ten and fifteen of these caps, accumulated over a decade, only my most recent addition impresses with an excellent fit, a cap that stays firmly planted on your head.
In fact, I more or less assumed that they were all pretty much the same size but this one that fits so well doesn't even come from a car manufacturer - it's made for the Harley-Davidson group. There are different styles and colours to choose from, but the one I received has a great retro-styling in Harley orange with white logo and shield.
And that's all there is to it. If you fancy a change from your Jeep apparel, or whichever your famous brand(s) of clothing may be, have a look at the selection at your nearest Harley dealer. The tee shirts and also quite up-market and the backpacks also look good in black with flashes of orange and the badge prominently displayed. The waist belt can be tucked away into pockets if not required and there is an outer pocket with an audio interface to allow an ipod to be connected via headphones. Prices of most of these items are around R350 to R450.
