I am a huge fan of the Forza franchise of games and I rate it up there with some of the finest racing simulators ever made. In my opinion, it is one of the few genuine rivals to Gran Turismo, which is saying a lot.
The choice of cars, the realism of the racing, the spectrum of tracks and the effort that has gone into making each vehicle and track look and sound as close to the original as possible, is what has made the game so popular in the past.
The good news is that I believe they have made it even better with Forza 3. Whether you are a hardcore fanatic of racing games or just like cars, the new Forza makes a racing simulator accessible to anyone.
To be honest, there are only a few subtle changes when you compare it with the last instalment, but these minor changes make a big difference. The biggest change in the new game is the ability to rewind time because time in Forza 3 is malleable, but not infinitely.
So, if you have just slammed your Audi R8 into the wall, you can push a button, rewind by five seconds and give it another shot. Let the hardcore gamers scoff. They don't have to push the button if they don't want to. Another great facet is the customisation. It is brilliant and powerful and you can create just about any design you can think of.
But all these perks are all secondary to the main aim of the game, which is to deliver a realistic racing experience with more than 400 licensed cars and 100 real world tracks. They nailed it again with this latest instalment - good job! - Jesse Henney VERDICT: 4,5/5
