Renault Zoe ZE

This is the description of the media involved in the media container above.

Renault revealed its Zoe ZE Concept in Frankfurt a few weeks ago, and the French marque claims that this little all-electric zero-emission vehicle is packed with technology that is aimed at extending its range and enhancing the travelling comfort of all occupants.

1.) Renaults claims that with the Zoe ZE Concept "...the overriding concerns regarding design were elegance and efficiency" and that "...the exterior design of Renault Zoe ZE Concept incorporates technologies aimed at reasserting its 'zero-emission' credentials"

2.) Powering this vehicle is a 70 kW electric motor that claims to develop 225 N.m of toque. Renault claims a top speed of 140 km/h. The lithium-ion battery has a range of 160 km.

3.) This concept is just 4,10 metres long and features large 21-inch wheels and large body panels.

4.) The Zoe ZE Concept features a shield of polyurethane gel that protects the lights, which feature energy-efficient electroluminescent diodes that emit a blue-tinted light. Renault explains that "... this second skin protects vulnerable components from small knocks in town, while underlining this concept car's hi-tech feel".

5.) The retractable spoiler at the rear can deploy at speeds in excess of 90 km/h. This poiler features LED technology and also serves as a brake light, as does the integrated light n the fin-type aerial on the roof.

6.) The air intakes situated either side of the car channel airflow to cool the batteries. The air is extracted through two large rear channels through which it is possible to glimpse the streamlined suspension arms.

7.) Renault explains that "... the roof has been designed as an intelligent protective membrane that insulates the occupants from heat and cold, as well as optimizing climate control performance by recovering energy via its honeycomb photovoltaic cells".

8.) The front features scissor doors, while rear access is through butterfly-style doors. The design of the rear doors means they also double up as openings for the boot, allowing carrying space to be accessed from the side.

9.) Renault describes the form of the front seat cushions as something that resembles an asymmetric pebble. The seatbacks are attached to the roof. At the rear, the seats can be folded flat for added carrying capacity.

10.) The facia of the Zoe ZE Concept is covered with a mineral-like membrane and with just a touch it calls up a range of touchscreen controls. The wide TFT (Thin Film Transistor) screen is housed in a glass bubble. This is the central information point for Renault Zoe ZE Concept and serves to display navigation data, the charge indicator and remaining range, as well as a pallet of coloured mood lighting options which enable the interior ambiance to be customized
