The facelifted 911 Turbo has barely hit the shelves and the powers-that-be at Porsche have decided to up its game even further with something a little more exclusive just in time for the Geneva Motor Show - the 911 Turbo S.
The new range-topping 911 will be available as a coupé or cabriolet. It doesn't look any different apart from the badge on the engine cover, but what makes the 911 Turbo S so special is that it boasts all the options available on a regular Turbo as standard features.
The horizontally-opposed 3,8-litre twin-turbocharged engine that does service in the 911 Turbo S now produces 390 kW (nearly 30 more than a Turbo) and the same 650 N.m of torque, but a peak of 700 N.m is available on overboost, making it even more powerful than a 911 GT2...
The 911 Turbo S sends its power to all four wheels via a seven-speed PDK dual clutch transmission, and thanks to the launch control system on the otherwise optional Sport Chrono Package, sprints to 100 km/h from standstill in a claimed 3,3 seconds and 200 km/h in 10,8 seconds. In addition to the Sport Chrono Package, the Turbo S also makes use of Porsche Torque Vectoring and a mechanical differential lock on the rear axle.
Top speed is 315 km/h, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes provide outstanding fade-free stoppage power. Despite the increase in power and performance, Porsche claims the 911 Turbo S doesn't consume more fuel than a Turbo.
Standard equipment on the 911 Turbo S includes Dynamic Bending lights, 19-inch RS Spyder wheels, sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles, adaptive sports seats, cruise control, CD/DVD changer, and exclusive leather upholstery.
Pricing in its domestic market is €173 241 for the Turbo S and €184 546 for the Turbo S Cabriolet.

In my opinion, already the best car on the planet even before the "S" was added.
