Previously known as Auto Africa, the Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS) is back and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

JIMS runs from 6 to 16 October and will unfold at the MTN Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec, Johannesburg. It claims to offer something for everyone.

These pictures show some of the highlights that will be on offer at JIMS this year. Keep your eyes on CARmag.co.za for more updates.

Also, for those interested in finding out more about the motoring industry from the experts themselves, be sure to check out the CAR conference that takes place at the show on 12 October 2011.

I would guess new Jetta, and Kia Optima will be big stars at the show ???

I do hope that Kia still plans to bring the Optima. According to Carmag’s article on the launch it should have been here long ago

    http://www.carmag.co.za/article/kias-debuts-more-new-models-2010-04-08
“A Kia spokesperson confirmed that both models are headed for SA, and will probably be launched close to the end of 2010.”

Maybe all those going to this show should sign a petition lobbying government to reduce taxes (ad valorem) on motor vehicles AND also a petition to lobby government to scrap the proposed draconian tolling system.

I saw an Optime on the N1 about 3 weeks ago, I to am waiting for Kia to launch locally – will be very interested in engine options at Hyundai Korea has just announced they will no longer be offering he 2.4L normally aspirated powerplant, only the 2L with & without forced indiuction.
