Last month, I reported on an intermittent warning message that the engine-coolant level was too low (despite the fact that it had been filled up). I was about to check the car into our local Volvo dealer when the problem seemed to fix itself. That saved a trip or two into town, but I’ll still mention it at the upcoming scheduled service.
The Volvo continues to fulfill its daily duties with aplomb, be it loading several boxes of plants at the nursery or larger equipment with the seats folded flat. When our long-term Volkswagen Cross Caddy is not available, it is also the chosen tracking car on our multiple photo shoots every month thanks to the settled ride and large boot.
These are probably some of the reasons why the XC60 is Volvo’s global bestseller. Even though it was launched way back in 2008 (with only a minor facelift along the way), 2014 sales were up on 2013’s.
It’s no surprise, therefore, that the company has started to manufacture the XC60 in China, now its largest market. It will be interesting to see if this will influence future design themes of the company’s products.
I’m planning another long distance trip in the Volvo in the next month, after which it will be heading to the dealership for its first service, just before it hit 20 000 km.
Do you own an XC60? If so, please email us your thoughts or tweet me.
