While ultimately no publicity is bad publicity, we’re willing to bet the South African team behind the creation of the forthcoming GTC (Global Touring Cars) V8 racing series would have preferred a slightly less dramatic local demonstration of their new car.
Managing director of the series (and five-time South African motorsport champion) Gary Formato was behind the wheel of his 5,0-litre V8 GTC race car during a demonstration lap at Zwartkops raceway in Gauteng when he lost control of the 494 bhp racer entering the main straight.
