Carnival City Casino has renewed its sponsorship of the final round of the SA Off Road Car Racing Championship…presented by Absa and announced today that the Carnival City Casino 400 on November 14 and 15 will be a major attraction for Gauteng based motorsport fans.
This year will be the third time that the Carnival City Casino 400 is sponsored by the East Rand based casino and, given its central location, will again be one of the most spectator friendly events in the championship.
Organised by the Koepel Club the event will feature a Prologue on the Friday that includes multiple laps of the 5km Carnival City Casino short-course off road track.
The main event will comprise three laps of a route of approximately 135km, which will include farmlands, rocky outcrops and the odd muddy section if the summer rains persist.
“Off road racing has always been in my blood and very much part of the Sun International culture,” said Carnival City Casino General Manager, Rod Walker. “In years gone by Sun International sponsored a national series and a number of events including the Venda Sun 500, where I was based for many years, and the Sun City 400 that was resurrected this year.”
“This year’s Sun City 400 has had rave reviews and it is our aim to outdo our colleagues in the Pilanesberg and stage an even better event.”
The SA Off Road Car Racing Championship…presented by Absa is set to go down to the wire as it has done in recent years and the Carnival City Casino 400 will be a fitting and exciting finale to a hard fought championship.
The event kicks off on Friday, November 14 at 13h00 with a Prologue that will decide the starting order for Saturday’s main race, which comes under starters orders at 08h00. The first vehicle is expected to cross the finish line at approximately 13h30.
