In one of the most exciting and unpredictable Formula One seasons in years, we thought it pertinent to take a closer look at the girls responsible for getting the heart rates of the current bread of F1 stars up while they’re away from the track.
If Kamui Kobayashi seems like he’s in a bit of a hurry to finish each Grand Prix, it’s probably because he’s keen to get back to his current girlfriend, Japanese model Yu Abiru.
Jenson Button is the current brand ambassador for Hugo Boss Bottled Sport and what better endorsement for this fragrance than seeing the look of satisfaction on long-term girlfriend Jessica Michibata’s face.
Nico Rosberg won his first Grand Prix earlier this year and was sure to have shared a celebratory drink or who with his girlfriend, Vivian Sibold.
Kimi Räikkönen may have spent a few years away from the sport but his presence on the current F1 grid has definitely added to the level of excitement to the sport. The return of his wife, former beauty queen Jenni Dahlman, to the pit lane has also been widely welcomed.
Fernando Alonso is arguably one of the most talented drivers of his generation and was, until the recent Canadian GP, leading the drivers’ points standings. He’s been driving particularly fast this season. One reason for this could be his rumoured relationship with model Xenia Tchoumitcheva. Alonso divorced his wife, Raquel del Rosario, in December 2011.
Romain Grosjean has featured prominently at the front-end of the grid this season. Not to be outdone by his ex-World Champion teammate, Kimi Räikkönen, Grosjean has two podium finishes so far this year and consistently features among the fastest lap classifications. He is engaged to news reporter, Marion Jolles.
Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado announced his presence on the Formula One scene by winning the 2012 Spanish GP. In doing so, the former GP2 champion gave Williams their first race victory in eight years. He also hopefully put a smile on girlfriend, Gabriella Tarkany’s lovely face.
While we could do without seeing Lewis Hamilton’s on-again, off-again girlfriend, Nicole Scherzinger’s overly dramatic reaction to every move the McLaren driver makes on the track, there can be no denying that the 2012 F1 pitlane is a better place for having the former Pussycat Doll walking around in it.
