Audi has lifted the covers off the first-ever RS version from its Q range.
The RS Q3 is set to feature a 228 kW/420 N.m turbocharged 2,5-litre five-cylinder engine mated exclusively with a seven-speed S tronic transmission and features the latest-evolution of the company’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Audi claims the racy Q3 will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5,5 seconds and be limited to a top speed of 250 km/h. Claimed fuel consumption is 8,8 L/100 km with CO2 emissions of 206 g/km.
The RS Q3 will ride 25 mm lower to the ground than a standard version and feature a number of performance-related styling add-ons, including revised bumpers and side skirts, a roof-mounted spoiler, rear diffuser and an elliptical tailpipe. High-performance brakes and a choice of either 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels complete the exterior package.
Alcantara sports seats, as well as a flat-bottomed steering wheel and alloy pedals, highlight the interior upgrades.
The RS Q3 is set to be launched in South Africa towards the end of the year.
