What you are looking at above is in all likelihood the hottest version of the Audi A1 range, dubbed the S1.
Caught undergoing testing, the S1 features lowered ride height and an aggressive front bumper with large air intakes, presumably for the intercooler. The rear is said to have a diffuser flanked by a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system. Since the S1 will likely be introduced alongside the facelifted A1, the model has also been equipped with a new head- and tail-lamps, which you can discern through the camouflage.
Understandably specifications on this model aren’t easily available but previous reports have indicated the S1 could have a turbocharged 2,0-litre four-pot developing roughly 16 kW and 350 N.m, or similar to the output of the WRC Polo that we drove earlier this year.
Odds are that the facelifted A1, S1 included, will make its debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show early in March.
