Petrolhead shoppers in Cape Town are in for a treat this weekend when the annual Canal Walk Motor Show will be in full swing from Friday, 26 April to Wednesday, 1 May.
Among the many show-stoppers will be selected vehicles from the Live to Race foundation, an organisation that allows disadvantaged children to experience hot laps on the track with some of South Africa’s most talented racers. Other attractions include legendary motorsport machinery driven by the likes of multiple track and rally champions Sarel van der Merwe and Serge Damseaux.
Canal Walk Shopping Centre will also be giving away a Citroen DS3 THP Sport, valued at R285 000, and sponsored by Citroen Cape Town. All you need to do is enter between 26 April and 31 May at one of the digital stands at the customer service desks inside the centre, or scan the QR code at any one of the entrances.
Visit the CAR magazine stand to get in touch with the latest TomTom navigation systems, receive 2013 CAR Calendars and compete against friend or foe on the Playstation racing simulator. New subscribers also stand the chance to win a GWM H6 Haval – also on display at the show.
Social-media buffs can also get involved online as Canal Walk will also be running a competition for one lucky fan to win a R5 000 Canal Walk gift card. All you need to enter is to visit Canal Walk’s Facebook page, click on the “Set your heart racing” tab and follow the prompts.
The Canal Walk Motor Show attracts thousands of visitors each year, according to marketing manager Camille Lor. “This year, we are especially excited about the Citroen DS3 that one of our shoppers will have the pleasure of driving away with in May.”
