Local Chana owners previously left high and dry after the official importer, Changan South Africa, was liquidated last year will be pleased to hear that they will now be able to source parts for their vehicles in South Africa.
Parts Support Pty (Ltd), which is the sister company of former rival Geely and controlled by the Dacar Motor Corporation (DMC), will supply all mechanical, service and accident parts, including components, to service and repair outlets throughout South Africa as well as individuals who prefer to service and maintain their vehicles themselves.
The actual servicing of Chana vehicles will, however, be restricted to select Geely workshops.
Parts Support Managing Director Dickie Marais has pointed out that while parts will be available to local Chana owners, the company will not be able to honour any warranty claims on such vehicles. According to Marais, the parts will be competitively priced.
