A pair of diesel-powered variants has been added to the local Chevrolet Utility line-up, while the Base AC and Club model receive additional safety kit in the form of ABS with EBD.
Available in Sport and Club specifications, the Utility diesel is powered by a 1,3-litre common-rail turbodiesel engine that develops 55 kW at 4 000 r/min and 170 N.m of torque between 1 750 and 2 500 r/min. Mated with a five-speed manual gearbox, this unit returns a claimed fuel consumption figure of 5,5 L/100 km. A Base-specification model will join the range shortly.
In addition to the diesel models, the Base AC and all of the Club specification models now receive ABS with EBD. This means that the entire Utility line-up, bar the entry-level 1,4 Base, now has ABS as standard.
Club specification brings with it the following standard features:
• Body-coloured bumpers
• Protective moulding on load box upper edge
• Tie down hoops in load box
• 14-inch steel rims
• Hydraulic power steering
• Height-adjustable steering column
• Height-adjustable driver’s seat
• Tinted windows
• Driver and passenger airbags
• Transponder immobiliser system
• Manual air conditioning
• 6-speaker audio system with MP3/radio/aux-in and Bluetooth.
• Remote control central locking and automatic door lock at 15 km/h
• Anti-theft alarm system
Sport adds 15-inch alloy wheels, heated electric side mirrors, electric windows, on-board computer and front fog lamps.
All Chevrolet Utility models come with 5 years/120 000 km warranty/roadside assistance. Service intervals are 15 000 kilometres or 12 months and a service plan is available as an option.
