A couple of weeks ago Citroën launched the DS4 hatchback on the local market. Now, the next model to join the C4 range, called the Aircross, is set to make its international launch during the first quarter of next year.
Based on the same platform as Peugeot’s 4008, the Aircross is a compact SUV/crossover that will be offered in two- and four-wheel drive configurations. With seating for up to five passengers and a claimed luggage capacity of 442 dm3, the Aircross will be available in either petrol or turbodiesel engine guise.
The full range will include a 1,6-litre petrol (85 kW/152 N.m), a 1,6-litre HDi turbodiesel (82 kW/270 N.m), 1,8-litre HDi turbodiesel (110 kW/300 N.m) and a 2,0-litre petrol (113 kW/198 N.m).
Apart from the entry-level petrol model, each model will be available with a 4×4 drivetrain.
A spokesperson for Citroën South Africa told CAR that the Aircross is under consideration for a local introduction. That means the Aircross could arrive on our shores as early as the second quarter of 2012.
