A modern-day successor to Citroën’s immortal DS has been rumoured for years and this new concept may be the best indication yet that the French car maker is considering a new “Goddess”.
The Numero 9 concept is scheduled to make its debut at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show before the French firm introduces its products to the Chinese market later this year. In its press release Citroën stated that the Numero 9 “signals the styling cues of the next three models in the line: a C-segment premium sedan, an SUV and a D-segment executive saloon.”
With its shooting brake body style, the Numero 9 may be a striking machine but there’s little about it to remind of the original. Nevertheless, it’s likely to be real head turner.
The concept is a plug-in full-hybrid, meaning travel on electricity alone is possible and there’s 220 kW of combined power on tap for swift performance, too.
