The facelifted Audi A4 has just been revealed. With revised looks and some new powertrains, Audi seems set to take on the recently revealed new BMW 3 Series and the facelifted Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Exterior changes include tweaks to the front bumper, bonnet and headlamps. Other changes include re-worked taillamps and a revised cabin with new finishes. Audi’s MMI multi-media interface has also received an upgrade.
In Europe, there will be the option of six turbodiesels and four petrol units. Outputs for the 2,0 TDI range between 100 and 120 kW, while there is also the option of a four-cylinder with outputs between 88 and 130 kW. The flagship diesel is the 180 kW 3,0 TDI. A de-tuned version of this engine is also available and pushes out 150 kW.
Petrol models include a new 1,8T FSI that produces 125 kW and 320 N.m of torque. There is also the option of a 88 kW version, and a 155 kW 2,0T FSI or a 200 kW 3,0T FSI.
The more powerful S4 version plays host to a supercharged 3,0T FSI V6 with 245 kW and 440 N.m of torque. Audi claims a zero-to-100 km/h sprint time of five seconds and a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The refreshed A4 line-up will reach SA early in 2012. The local engine line-up will be confirmed closer to the launch.
