The Ferrari stand at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show will undoubtedly draw the crowd thanks to this new beauty from the Italian firm – the 458 Speciale.
Under the bonnet is a reworked version of the 4,5-litre V8. It now pushes out 445 kW at 9 000 r/min and 540 N.m at 6 000 r/min. These figures mean that this is the most powerful naturally aspirated unit that Ferrari has ever built. The 458 Speciale can go from zero to 100 km/h in three seconds and can reach 200 km/h from standstill in 9,1 seconds.
The Ferrari Styling Centre worked in conjunction with Pininfarina to shape the car and enhance the aerodynamics. There are front and rear moveable aerodynamic flaps that help reduce drag and balance downforce.
Other technologies include the Side Slip-angle Control (SSC). According to Ferrari, this system “makes it easier to achieve car control on the limit, thereby greatly improving driving emotions”.
CAR will be in Frankfurt. Be sure to keep an eye on our website, Facebook page and Twitter feed for all the latest details.
