Following reports that all 499 units of Ferrari’s LaFerrari hypercar have been sold, comes news that the order book for the 458 Speciale’s first-year production run have also been filled.
This is jaw-dropping news, especially given that both the LaFerrari and 458 Speciale are of the fastest and/or most exclusive variety.
The 458 Speciale has big shoes to fill, as it follows in the same line as the 360 Challenge Stradale and 430 Scuderia. This means it’s lighter, more powerful and more aerodynamically advanced than the “standard” 458 Italia upon which it’s based.
As with any hardcore mid-engined V8 Ferrari has ever made, the Speciale is very performance orientated. Around the marque’s Fiorano test track, the Speciale trails the more powerful F12 Berlinetta and aforementioned LaFerrari by only half a second, which makes it the third-quickest road car ever around this track.
And yes, it is faster than the 599 GTO and godly Enzo.
