We all know how hotly contested the bakkie market is in South Africa. Not only do the top models fight for market share but also causes many debates among the fans of respective brands.
If there is one model that has shaken the establishment – even more so than VW’s Amarok – it has to be the Ford Ranger. Not only is it extremely capable and won several accolades, but it has won over the hearts, and Rands, of some dyed-in-the-wool fans of other bakkies. With Toyota’s all-new Hilux breaking cover later this year (click here for a brief look at the new model) the Blue Oval is keen to upstage the Japanese bestseller.
We have already seen images of the facelifted Ford Ranger (pics here) and now the leisure orientated Wildtrak model has also broken cover. It is seen in these pics completely unadorned. You can see the alloy wheels, side steps and roof rails that denote this model from its workhorse siblings.
The eagle-eyed photographer also managed to nick a few images of the interior that shows us a large infotainment screen, probably touchscreen in operation, and several buttons on the steering wheel.
