GWM South African recently launched its H6 SUV into the local market. The initial range of a 2,0-litre turbodiesel has now been doubled with the addition of a 1,5-litre turbopetrol.
The petrol engine delivers 105 kW at 5 600 r/min and 210 N.m of torque from 2 200 to 4 500 r/min. Power is delivered solely to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. GWM claims a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 8,5 litres/100 km.
The list price of the new model is R309 999, which includes a touchscreen infotainment system with radio/CD/DVD/MP3 playback, Bluetooth integration and a mini-SD slot and USB port for further convenience. There is also a reversing camera that displays on the screen when backing-up. Other standard features include climate control, power steering, cruise control, electric windows all-round, electric mirror adjustment, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlights with manual levelling, among others.
Both models in the H6 line-up now boast a 5 year/100 000 km warranty and a standard service plan of 5 years/60 000 km.
