Less than 24 hours after Autocar broke the embargo and published images of the facelifted Porsche Panamera, the German manufacturer has released official details on its new car.
Due to make its public debut at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show, the refreshed Panamera features new front facia, updated headlights, modified front and rear bumpers and restyled taillamps.
The range will gain a new model in the guise of the Panamera S E-Hybrid. This model makes use of a 3,0-litre V6 engine, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output for this model is a reported 306 kW. It has a zero to 100 km/h sprint time of 5,5 seconds and a top seed of 269 km/h, while returning a fuel consumption figure of up to 3,1 litres/100. Emissions is said to be 71 g/km. To achieve these figures the Hybrid must be driven solely by the electric motor for 18 to 35 km at speeds of up to 133 km/h.
Another change to the range is the replacement of the 4,8-litre V8 engine. In its place is a new 3,0-litre V6 that will power the Panamera 4 and 4S models. This unit has increased outputs of 308 kW (up by 14 kW) and 521 N.m (up by 19 N.m) of torque. Porsche claims that there is a fuel consumption improvement of 18 per cent when compared with the V8. The current diesel engine will be replaced with a new 220 kW unit early next year.
