After the defection of their SA-born former boss to head up Cadillac in the USA, Infiniti have announced their new leader – former BMW man, Roland Krüger.
Once a designer at Mitsubishi, Krüger joined BMW in 1998 and held several senior management roles at the company, including MD of its Asian business. He will be a senior vice-president of Nissan and report directly to the Renault-Nissan big chief Carlos Ghosn who said this of Krüger: “Roland Krüger has a consistent record of high performance in the premium automotive sector. He brings unique leadership skills that will accelerate Infiniti’s progress in the global premium market.”
He’ll certainly have to have them if the is to reach their stated goal of selling 200 00 units globally by 2020 (10% share of the global market). Infiniti currently sell in 50 markets worldwide.
