CAR’s annual January issue Performance Shootout, brought to you in association with Bridgestone and Liqui Moly, is but a few days away and we’d like you, our loyal readers, to join us and see 11 of the hottest hatchbacks and small cars currently available be put through their paces at Killarney in Cape Town next week.
Members of the public are welcome to join the CAR team at Killarney on Monday 19 November from 09:00 and are requested to please use the motocross entrance (not the main gate in Potsdam road). Entry is free.
At 9.30 am British motoring journalist Chris Harris will start doing hot laps in the Fiat Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari, Audi A1 S-Line Sportback, Renault Mégane RS Red Bull, new Opel Astra OPC, BMW M135i, Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV, VW Golf GTI Edition 35 and Ford’s new Focus ST. Subaru’s BRZ and Toyota’s 86 will take on Renault’s Clio RS Red Bull, and two icons from the past also make an appearance; the iconic BMW 325iS and the legendary Opel Kadett Superboss.
There’ll be a meet-and-greet with CAR’s editorial staff, Chris Harris and CAR’s own track test ace Deon Joubert at midday, and the highlight of the rest of the afternoon will be an editorial video featuring the 325iS and Superboss.
Please note that this is not an event, but an opportunity to see what happens on an editorial shoot. As such, there will be no catering for the public, but soft drinks will be on sale.
