After setting the pace with the fastest qualifying lap, Suzuki’s Hudson Kennaugh went on to receive maximum points by winning both of the day’s thrilling encounters.
Few doubted Kennaugh’s ability to dominate proceedings on his Cell C Suzuki GSXR 1000 as continued to add to his formidable championship lead. However, his domination was not complete as the young Sheridan Morias and veteran Shaun Whyte (First Technology Honda Fireblades) grabbed the two top spots at the start of the first race.
The safety car was deployed on lap four after Jason Wessels crashed his Cable City Suzuki. When racing resumed three laps later, Kennaugh pounced and slotted his machine into the lead, where he remained until the race’s end.
Morias and Whyte followed him over the line while Russell Wood (Autopage Cellular Yamaha R1), Arushen Moodley (First Technology Honda Fireblade), and the Kawasaki ZXR models of Robert Cragg and Garth Norris completed the results.
In the second race, Kennaugh led from start to finish, though Morias, Crookes, Norris, Cragg, Moodley and Whyte pursued him throughout the race.
Clinton Seller (Sell Mar Aluminium Suzuki) won the 600cc Supersport category both times, followed by Kreepy Krauly Bioguard Yamaha rider Darryn Upton.
