Lexus has officially revealed the RC Coupe ahead of its public debut at this month’s Tokyo Motor Show.
In terms of design, the RC takes on an aggressive form of the Lexus spindle grille and features triangular headlamps, and a narrow and sharp look to the rear lamps. All of which show the influence of the LF-LC concept car. On the inside there is the company’s first lighting package, a seven-inch navigation screen and a layered centre console with a remote touch interface.
This vehicle measures in at 4 693 mm in length, 1 394 mm in height, 1 838 mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2 730 mm.
Lexus will display two versions on its Tokyo stand – the RC 350 and RC 300h hybrid. The latter comes equipped with a V6 3,5-litre petrol unit, while the hybrid utilises a 2,5-litre and an electric motor. Lexus has trademarked the “RC F” mark, so it’s safe to assume that a hot version of this striking coupe will soon make it to production. Expect it to make use of a 5,0-litre V8 with 339 kW and 543 N.m of torque.
The Lexus RC Coupe will make its way to South Africa towards the end of 2014.
