If you are a regular visitor to our other site www.carmagblog.co.za you may well have read about the good work conducted by Live to Race. If you haven’t, here is a brief primer.
This Cape-based NPO (non-profit organisation) uses sportscars to bring a small sliver of happiness to children who suffer from some form of terminal illness, are destitute or suffer some form of handicap.
Several dozen sports- and supercar owners give up their time, as well as the use of their prized possessions to put smiles on the faces of the very special guests. At the next event on May 24 Reach for a Dream and the Anna Foundation are among the main recipients.
By the good graces of Western Province Motor Club, Live to Race hosts the majority of its events at the Killarney Raceway just outside of Cape Town.
Such events would be far less likely without the help of sponsors and to this end hungry tummies will be filled by Romans Pizza. The very generous chaps at Subaru Cape Town have also recently come aboard to help bear some of the financial costs. And, touch wood they are not called into action, SA Paramedic Services are on standby throughout the event.
If you happen to be in the Western Cape and not busy this coming Saturday (May 24) pop by the racetrack between 14:00 and 18:00.
