Mercedes-Benz unveiled its Coupe Concept as recently as the Frankfurt motor show, but test mules of the production S-Class Coupé are already doing the rounds. WorldCarFans reports that this model appeared to be a disguised AMG version of the upcoming grand tourer. The game is given away by a chunkier bodykit and larger air intakes on the lower section of the front bumper.
As with most of the other large AMG models, the S-Class Coupe AMG will probably feature the firm’s 5,5-litre twin-turbo V8, but will slightly raised power outputs. Expect around the same powertrain and outputs as that of the S63 AMG, which we drove last week, that is to say 430 kW and 900 N.m delivered to the rear wheels via a seven-speed transmission.
The S-Class Coupé is expected to debut in full production guise during the course of 2014.
