The Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG and Porsche Boxster S PDK come from different ideas on what motoring nirvana is. Yes, they compete in the same market segment, they’re both topless and both scintillatingly fast, but that’s all that these two German roadsters have in common.
Both models are at the top of their respective lineups and boast relatively fresh designs, but whilst the Porsche uses a 3,4-litre flat six that produces 232 kW at 6 700 r/min and 360 N.m of torque at 4 500 r/min, the Benz employs a 5,5-litre V8 that puts out 310 kW at 540 N.m of torque at 4 500.
