With models such as the Clubman and the newer Countryman Mini has seemingly been moving away from its original core product. The Rocketman concept, however, is about to change perception.
The Rocketman is designed to offer mobility for two people and one additional passenger. For short journeys there is even space for a fourth, but Mini would like to call this seat configuration a “3+1”.
Mini hasn’t released any details regarding the powertrain for this concept. What it did confirm is that it will only use around 3,0 litres/100 km in the combined cycle. We assume that it will either be a very small turbodiesel engine or maybe even a hybrid.
At the rear, the two-piece bootlid isn’t only hinged far back onto the roof, but the lower part also does duty as a drawer. This drawer can be used to carry gear, for example skis, if the cabin is occupied by passengers.
