[Mercedes-Benz News] Thanks to these leaked brochure images and a teaser video from Mercedes-Benz, everyone has a pretty clear idea about what the new S-Class will look like when it’s unveiled later this week.
The images, uploaded onto German Car Forum, highlight three new S-Class models. There’s an S550 with a 4,7-litre V8 twin-turbo with about 335 kW and 700 N.m of torque. This model will reportedly crack the zero to 100 km/h sprint in 4,8 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 250 km/h. The more down-to-earth S350 BlueTEC features a 3,0-litre V6 turbodiesel with 190 kW and 620 N.m of torque. This helps propel the car to 100 km/h from standstill to 100 km/h in 6,8 seconds before it reaches a top speed of 250 km/h. The S400 features a hybrid system with a 3,5-litre V6 that pushes out 225 kW and 370 N.m of torque.
Among the S-Class’s standard features are a wood and leather steering wheel, LED ambient lightning, a Burmester sound system, a panoramic sunroof, soft-close doors and illuminated door sill plates.
CAR associate editor Terence Steenkamp is currently in Germany awaiting the official unveiling. We will bring you more details as soon as it debuts. You can also follow Terence or CAR on twitter for up-to-the-minute updates.
