Renault South Africa has confirmed its Clio RS EDC is now locally available. Renaultsport enthusiasts will already know that the new model has taken quite a turn from the previous-generation version.
Powering the front wheels is a 1,6-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 147 kW and 240 N.m. Renault claims a zero to 100 km/h acceleration time of 6,7 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h. The only transmission available is a six-speed dual-clutch unit, which is operated by paddles behind the steering wheel.
Renault South Africa will offer both chassis options, the Lux and the Cup. The Lux is priced from R294 900, and the Cup from R314 900. Included in the price is a five-year/150 000 km mechanical warranty and a three-year/45 000 km service plan.
