Aston Martin has released details and images of its most powerful Vantage model yet, the V12 S. According to Aston Martin’s chief executive officer Dr Ulrich Bez: “The new V12 Vantage S is, simply, pure Aston Martin. It is extreme in its nature yet truly timeless in its design language.”
With a new version of the company’s 6,0-litre V12 engine delivering 421 kW and 620 N.m, there is no denying that this will be a fast Vantage. In fact, bar the One-77 limited supercar, this is the fastest Aston Martin road car money can buy today.
Apart from the race-derived technology found in the engine, including CNC machined combustion chambers and hollow camshafts, the car also features three-stage adaptive damping in the suspension. The steering ratio is quicker than the outgoing car and a new automated manual transmission (25 kg lighter) improve shift times and quality.
Styling wise the design has been tweaked to reflect the sporting nature and to assume the flagship role in the revised Vantage range. Changes include a new carbon-fibre grill, forged ten-spoke alloy wheels, new style seats and an optional carbon fibre interior pack to spice things up further.
