The upcoming coupe that’s based on the Lexus LF-LC concept could boast a twin-turbocharged V8 despite previous reports that suggested the use of a normally aspirated 5,0-litre V8 or 3,5-litre V6 supplemented by an electric motor.
According to MotorTrend the powerplant for the new model (possibly a continuation of the SC) that’s been designed to take on the like of BMW’s 6 Series might just be the luxury marque’s current 5,0-litre V8 aided by dual turbochargers – and could produce in excess of 440 kW.
If reports that suggest the production version of the LF-LC is indeed the new SC are correct, the new range might just boast three models – a normally aspirated V8, hybrid V8 and range-topping “F” model.
Whatever the new Lexus is going to be called, it is only planned for production sometime in 2016.
