Nissan has unveiled its Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus and Renault Mégane competitor. Called the Pulsar, there is clear family resemblance between this new hatchback and the new Qashqai and X-Trail.
In overseas markets the Pulsar will be launched with a 1,2-litre DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine offering 84 kW, and next year a 139 kW 1,6-litre, turbocharged petrol engine will be added to the range.
The 1,5-litre dCi, turbodiesel, 80 kW derivative will also be available at launch, offering a welcoming 260 N.m of torque. Nissan will offer all of these engines with a both a six-speed manual gearbox and a CVT transmission.
The Pulsar will also come with a list of safety technologies. These will include emergency braking, lane departure warning system and a blind-sport monitoring system.
The Nissan Pulsar will become available towards the end of the year in Europe. At this stage it is unclear if it will be heading to our shores.
