Porsche SA is set to introduce its über performance SUV, the 405 kW Cayenne Turbo S, to the local market by March 2013.
This range-topping model draws its 405 kW and 750 N.m of torque from an uprated version of the turbocharged 4,8-litre V8 currently doing service in the Cayenne Turbo. Coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the Turbo S will reportedly hit 100 km/h from standstill in 4,5 seconds on the way to a 283 km/h top whack. Average fuel consumption has been pegged at 11,5 L/100 km.
Keeping all of this additional grunt in check are a raft of control systems which include Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), PASM damping control, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and an electronically controlled locking rear differential. Porsche’s Sport Chrono package is included as standard fitment on this model.
The Turbo S is differentiated from its 368 kW sibling by such features as gloss black finishes for the mirror caps, air dams and headlamp surrounds, as well as 21-inch 911 Turbo II alloy wheels with gloss black inner sections reserved specifically for this model.
Interior leather trim options include Turbo S-only bi-colour combinations of black/Carrera red or black/luxor beige with contrasting seams and can be complemented with the addition of a carbon interior trim pack.
