Toyota selected the New York Auto Show to unveil its latest RAV4 model addition, as well as showing model updates for the range. The new RAV4 Hybrid is equipped with the 2,5-litre, petrol engine, as well as two electric motors, of which one powers the rear axle, resulting in an electric all-wheel drive system. Toyota also claims a towing capacity of 1,65 tonnes, while this RAV4 will also feature the company’s Trailer Sway Control system.
As can be seen in the pictures, the Hybrid features several exterior updates, including full LED headlights. The cabin has also received some updates including a new, full colour TFT screen, 360-degree Panoramic view monitor and Adaptive Cruise Control. These updates will also filter through to the rest of the range.
Unfortunately Toyota confirmed that the Hybrid won’t be joining the local line-up, but that some of these updates will be implemented in the range within the next year.
