Land Rover has released teaser images and a video of the Vision Concept, which will reportedly preview the Coventry-based company’s new design language for the next generation Discovery at the New York Motor Show later this month.
From the highlighted profile, the Vision Concept bears no relation to the current Discovery, at least aerodynamically. The boxy design that’s been so familiar over the past decade has been tossed in favour of a more aerodynamic approach. Apparently the new Freelander compact SUV will be the first to benefit from this new design ethos.
In the cabin, there seems to be a stronger focus on luxury with premium quality trim like gloss-black finishes and plenty of chrome detailing evident in these images. There’s also what appears to be an integrated touch screen monitor mounted mid-facia.
“We have created the Vision Concept to debut a new, compelling, relevant design direction that connects on an emotional level with customers of today and tomorrow,” says Land Rover’s design director, Gerry McGovern
