Spotted by spy photographers while pounding the Nurburgring Nordschleife ahead of its debut next year, the second-generation BMW X6 will follow on from today’s successful model (which has inspired other coupe-like SUVs, such as the upcoming X4). It will still be based on X5 architecture and use that model’s engine line-up, including a 3,0-litre turbodiesel in two states of tune, a 3,0-litre turbopetrol and 4,4-litre V8 petrol with twin-turbo technology. We’re expecting an ActiveHybrid to also form part of the range.
Expect the X6 locally before the end of 2014, or possibly early 2015.
