[Nissan News] Nissan has added two models to its very successful Juke line-up (more than 6 600 already sold in South Africa), an Xtronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) and an all-wheel drive version (AWD) also fitted with this transmission.
The CVT brings with it not only self-shifting convenience but optimised efficiency and refinement. It is offered only in 1,6-litre Acenta+ specification and sells for R249 900.
Complementing the normally-aspirated CVT auto model is the new 1,6 DIG-T Tekna AWD CVT auto model, which pairs the new transmission with a turbocharged engine – boasting 140 kW and 240 N.m – and adds AWD. This model sells for R314 900.
Nissan’s ALL-MODE 4x4i is an intelligent AWD system which distributes torque between the front and rear wheels via a torque vectoring system up to a maximum split of 50:50. Adjusted according to the driving conditions and vehicle behaviour – including steering input, yaw rate, lateral G and wheel speed – the torque vectoring system also manages power between the two rear wheels via an electronically-controlled coupling, with specific intention to reduce understeer while cornering.
Both models are backed by a 3 years/90 000 km service plan.
