Revealed on local soil at JIMS in 2013, Opel has now launched the Mokka compact SUV in South Africa. This is the company’s first ever compact SUV, and forms part of the Opel’s series of new model introductions in South Africa, which started with the Opel Adam and Corsa.
The range will be made up of four models. The Enjoy 1,4T manual is equipped with the 1,4-litre, turbopetrol developing 103 kW/200 N.m. There is also an automatic version available with a 6-speed transmission as opposed to the six-speed manual version.
Next up is the Cosmo model. Again, it is offered with the same engine and the choice of the manual gearbox or automatic transmission. The Cosmo models have a higher level of specification though. This include for instance 18-inch alloy wheels versus the Enjoy’s 17-inch items.
The Cosmo also offers a leather and heated steering wheel, rear privacy glass, automatic headlight control with active high beam assist, rain sensor wipers and a reverse camera.
All cars come with a 5-years/90 000 km service plan and a 5-years/120 000 km warranty.
