New spy pictures of the upcoming Jaguar F-Type SVR suggests, what will be Jaguar’s current, fastest and most powerful car, is getting ready for the production line.
Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations is known for the work they have already carried out on the Range Rover Sport as well as the limited Jaguar Project 7. Now the group’s attention has turned to the standard F-Type R.
The 5,0-litre, supercharged V8 engine is rumoured to be tuned to deliver around 440 kW and over 700 N.m. These are notable increases over the F-Type R’s 405 kW and 680 N.m.
When we tested the F-Type R Coupé in September 2014, the car managed a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4,12 seconds. It is safe to assume the SVO could dip below the 4-second mark.
We expect Jaguar will again limit the top speed to 300 km/h, but with the limiter removed it will definitely be able to creep past this magical mark.
The SVO engineers would also make changes to the suspension, ZF eight-speed transmission and the steering system.
We will be very surprised if the exhaust note is louder, as the F-Type R’s system already emitted one of the loudest tunes we have heard to date!
Finally, the aerodynamic package of the car will also be improved, while we won’t bet against the fact that it will possibly be the most tail-happy car on sale!
It is interesting to note that the spy pics only show the Roadster, although we strongly doubt that Jaguar will only give the Roadster the SVO treatment.
Expect the latest SVR to make its official debut before the end of the year.
