Nardo Ring in southern Italy is synonymous with high-speed testing. Although the facility includes various special-surface tracks, handling sections and off-road trails, it is the main circular track that’s captures the imagination of car fans. This perfectly round track is 12,5 km long and has a diameter of almost 4 km. The high-speed section consists of four banked lanes with an increased banking angle towards the outer lane. The neutral speed for each lane (where no steering angle is needed and the road essentially mimics a long straight) is 100 km/h for lane one, 140 km/h for lane two, 190 km/h for lane three and 240 km/h for lane four. Carmakers regularly use this track for high-speed and hot-climate testing. Porsche is now the owner of this facility, having acquired it in April 2012.
