Audi has released a fresh teaser sketch of its upcoming Q8, giving us a glimpse of the rear end of Ingolstadt’s future flagship SUV.
The German brand published the sketch on its Facebook page, writing that the new Q8 is “most definitely not a wolf in sheep’s clothing”, but rather an SUV with a “coupé design”.
The image suggests that, like the latest A7 and A8, the new Q8 will employ a one-piece, bar-shaped brakelamp arrangement round back. And, as expected, the roofline tapers towards the rear, while trapezoidal exhaust outlets sit either side of a diffuser element.
The Q8 is expected to run on the Volkswagen Group’s MLB Evo platform, thus sharing its underpinnings with the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne, Lamborghini Urus and Volkswagen Touareg.
Our first look at the Q8 came in concept form at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, while the Q8 sport concept followed at Geneva two months later.
The production version of Audi’s range-topping SUV is expected to be revealed in Shanghai in June 2018.
