The latest-generation Audi A8 is due to arrive in South Africa in the second quarter of 2018. But the Ingolstadt-based brand has already revealed its new “sport exterior package”, which serves to lend the luxury sedan a smidgen more on-road presence.
The optional package – seen here applied to Audi’s flagship sedan, finished in a new Daytona grey hue – includes an aluminium lip below the front grille, along with special trim surrounding the air inlets, which themselves now feature a honeycomb pattern. Aluminium strips furthermore run along each flank, just above the side-skirting, as well as at the rear.
Round back, Audi says you’ll find a redesigned bumper that features a rhombus-grille insert and a contrasting diffuser (although we’ll have to take the company’s word for it, seeing as images of the rear of the vehicle have not yet been released).
In addition, Audi says new sports seats – which boast climate control and massage functions, and will be offered in two leather grades and five basic colours – will soon be available, complete with “optically integrated” headrests with electric height adjustment. The brand says the new front perches adopt the “technical highlights” of the comfort customised contour seats, including pneumatic side-bolster adjustment.
