Knaus Tabbert has revealed two funky camper van concepts at the 2018 Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf … although the firm would rather you don’t call them “camper vans”.
Yes, the company says its CUVision and CUVolution concept vans (CUV standing for “Caravanning Utility Vehicle”) are too special to wear such a mundane tag, and are meant for “adventure, holidays, freedom, and spontaneity”, while also being easily used as everyday vehicles.
Based on the MAN TGE (itself a rebadged Volkswagen Crafter), the CUVision features a front splitter, Xenon headlamps, a tendon-like chrome clasp on the side and 22-inch Borbet rims with “high-grip” tyres.
The CUVolution, meanwhile, is based on the Fiat Ducato and boasts an eye-catching custom liquid chrome orange paintjob plus oversized air intake slots. Matte anthracite decorative strips and a prominent roof wing add to its sporty design, as do the front splitter and rear diffuser.
Unfortunately, Knaus Tabbert has not yet released images of the two custom vans’ interiors, but we’re guessing they’re just as funky as the exteriors.
