HIV/Aids is a subject that cannot be ignored and is affecting global economies. Dr Neal Bruton will discuss how the epidemic will affect the SA motor industry at the CAR Conference in October.
The CAR Conference will be held on October 23 and forms part of the Auto Africa Expo, which runs from October 21-27 at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg.
Dr Bruton is the executive director of Response Group Trendline, which supplies new vehicle sales data and analytical software to all of the motor manufacturers and vehicle importers in South Africa as well as other organisations with a strategic interest in the industry.
Response Group Trendline has also developed and maintains sophisticated Internet enabled database query systems for the motor industry, providing extensive analysis and research for industry planners and analysts.
He brings a wealth of knowledge to the CAR Conference. His career includes 17 years with Volkswagen South Africa, after joining the manufacturer in 1981 as a sales planning analyst. He held several management positions, including Long Range Planning, Strategic Planning, Sales Planning and Marketing Planning. In 1995 he was appointed as General Manager: Marketing Planning, and later that year was promoted to General Manager: Franchise Operations and was named an alternate director of Volkswagen Finance (Pty) Limited.
Dr Bruton formed his own company, Trendline Data Dynamics, in 1998. His primary focus was to add analytical and strategic value to the motor industry in South Africa.
In 2001 Trendline Data Dynamics merged with Response Group, which for already 20 years had been the custodians of the NAAMSA database and established data providers to the local motor industry.
Dr Bruton is also a shareholder and director of Mead and McGrouther (Pty) Limited, which for the past 40 years has reported on used vehicle values to the used vehicle industry in South Africa.
