Last week, McLaren released a design sketch of its upcoming hypercar. And now a report out of Europe has confirmed its price.
Just 106 examples of the new, three-seater vehicle – codenamed BP23 – will be built, with Automotive News putting the starting price of each at £2-million (about R32-million). All, however, have already been sold, despite the pricetag rivalling that of the Bugatti Chiron.
The first examples are scheduled to be delivered in 2019, with the British automaker billing its hybrid “hyper-GT” as the “most powerful and most aerodynamic road-going McLaren ever”.
McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt told the publication that there has been massive interest in the BP23.
“When we did finally announce it, we were absolutely inundated with applications. I had to find polite ways to say ‘no’,” Flewitt said.
