The motoring world’s collective jaw thudded into the floor when Aston Martin and Red Bull unveiled their hypercar collaboration, codenamed AM-RB 001, earlier this year.
And now new details about this hypercar – which will apparently employ a high-revving, naturally aspirated V12 – have emerged.
The Wall Street Journal spoke to Adrian Newey, the chief technical officer for Red Bull Racing, and project engineer David King about the AM-RB 001, who revealed a few juicy details.
According to the report, the radical aerodynamics of the 25 track-only units (which will be built alongside 150 examples of the road car) will allow cornering at up to 4Gs of lateral acceleration.
Equally impressive is the claim that the track-only version will be capable of accelerating from zero to 322 km/h (or 200 mph) in around 10 seconds, before returning to zero in another five. Yes, TEN seconds…
Colour us impressed. The British brand reckons first deliveries will commence in 2018, so best we all start saving…
