Ford Motor Company of SA has opened its first so-called “Quick Lane Tyre and Auto Centre” in Silverton, Pretoria, which it says will provide “convenient access to quality automotive service for all vehicle makes and models”.
The centre will focus primarily on vehicles that have exceeded the manufacturer’s standard warranty period.
Ford has opened similar centres around the world – 1 018 facilities, to be exact – saying they provide motorists with “expert maintenance for routine auto service in a short period of time”.
The new 164-square-metre centre in Silverton is adjacent to the Aurinia Ford dealership, and includes three service bays, one alignment rack and certified managers and technicians.
“We’re thrilled to be in Silverton and look forward to serving its residents with our commitment to provide exceptional customer service, competitive value and a transparent experience,” said Shaun Potgiter, Quick Lane Silverton manager.
Interestingly, Ford says the centre will offer “convenient hours, a comfortable facility and service while they wait with no appointments necessary”.
The range of services and repairs include tyre fitment (and rotation and wheel alignment), replacement of shock absorbers, brake services, oil and filter changes and maintenance, batteries, alternators, starters and electrical services.
In addition, Ford says the Quick Lane Tyre and Auto Centre handles servicing and “light repairs” for suspension, steering and transmission, as well as wiper blade replacement, air-conditioning repairs, new lamps and bulbs, belt and hose replacements and cooling system maintenance.
